Unifill takes thermoforming further - with new machine models on display at INTERPACK 2005 - in Hall 5 – Stand 5 G 24

Unifill S.p.A. from Modena/Italy is a leading manufacturer of vertical thermoform, fill and seal machines for monodose plastic packs. It supplies the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, personal care and chemicals industries. More than 200 systems are in everyday operation around the world. More recently also in China, Unifill fastest growing market area.

Unifill will display an upgraded version of the TF-01 model, a compact ultra-modern ma-chine for filling liquid and viscous products into peelable or squeezable plastic monodoses with volumes ranging from 1 to 100 ml. With the new TF-01, these monodoses can now be offered as stand-up versions - a requirement of the industry.

In addition to the competitive prices of machine and tooling, the TF-01 offers quick changeovers – thanks to ease of operation and simple tooling access for size change purposes. Users of the TF 01 system also profit from the low packaging material costs made possible by extremely low material waste.

As the TF-01 model is geared for low to medium output up to 9,000 units/h there has been a demand from our worldwide customers to develop a thermoforming machine with higher outputs - on the same principles and platform.

The new TF-02 will therefore have its European PREMIERE at Interpack 2005. Engineered in the second half of 2004, this new machine has a production output of 2 - 3 times higher than its smaller sister model (up to 24,000 units/h). One big advantage for the customer is the fact that tooling will be interchangeable from the small TF-01 to the fast model TF-02, which is particularly interesting for co-packers.

But the development doesn’t stop there. Unifill is already preparing for the next generation of high-speed machine, named TF-03 that will be shown in virtual reality on Unifill stand 5/G24 and commercially be available by end 2005.

Another innovative new product on display will be a recent bottle development called SmartBottle^®. This is a new type of plastic bottle with volumes up to 500 ml and produced on a thermoform-fill-seal machine from a single reel of plastic material. Thanks to a new and patented system, these SmartBottles^® will be produced without any outer seal edge, but with a smooth outer surface, making them competitive to blow-moulded bottles.
