Degussa Food Ingredients: food activities bundled under new name
Degussa
Food Ingredients is the name of a new business unit comprising the three
former units Flavors & Fruit Systems, BioActives and Texturant Systems. All
market and customer related activities of the former units are carried on as
business lines within Degussa Food Ingredients. The new business unit was
formed in April 2003 and is headed by Dr. Christian Kapp.
"The concentration of food activities into a single business unit will
improve Degussa Food Ingredients' ability to meet market requirements
for systems solutions and tailor-made products and services," comments
Dr.Christian Kapp.
"Degussa Food Ingredients aims to be the food industry's chosen partner
for innovative texturizing, flavoring and bioactive solutions based on
thorough applications know-how and superior global service," Dr. Kapp
continued.
"The reorganization is also set to enable the business unit to serve
its food industry customers with a broad range of single source
products. The product brands will remain the same and customer service
will be continuously strengthened and extended."
Degussa Food Ingredients provides all major segments of the food,
beverage and pharmaceutical industries with specialized ingredients and
customized solutions for making and keeping food fresh, tasty, healthy and
safe. With worldwide application service centres plus a global sales
organization and production network, it is active both internationally and
locally. The new business unit operates in 21 counties, with approximately
2500 employees, reaching an annual turnover of nearly EUR 600 million in
sales.
