ADM Natural Health and Nutrition is a division of the Archer Daniel
Midland Company. Established to meet the rising demand for foods with
particular health benefits and dietary supplements, ADM Natural Health
and Nutrition manufactures and markets a worldwide range of nutritional
ingredients - all derived from natural sources. Originally called ADM
Nutraceuticals, the division was re-named ADM Natural Health and
Nutrition in Autumn 2001 as part of ADM's global re-branding programme.
Products
ADM's vast global crop processing capability enables it to isolate and
extract valuable natural components for supplement and functional food
use.
- Natural-source vitamin E
ADM is the world's largest producer of natural-source vitamin E.
Derived from vegetable oils, vitamin E is used in a wide range of
products in dietary supplements and food applications. Vitamin E is an
important lipid-soluble antioxidant and, as such, may help to support
the immune function and promote a healthy heart.
- Decanox® mixed tocopherols
A combination of natural d-alpha-, beta-, gamma- and
delta-tocopherols, mixed tocopherols are available in oil and powder
forms. Mixed tocopherols are the antioxidant of choice and can be used
in all food systems, including infant, follow-on and weaning food.
- Soya isoflavone concentrate
Novasoy® soya isoflavone concentrate is made under
specially controlled conditions that do not disrupt the profiles and
ratios of the natural isoflavones found in soya and unfermented soya
foods. Novasoy provides a rich source of the naturally-occurring
isoflavones, genistin, daidzin and glycitin, at a conveniently high
concentration. This means that Novasoy can readily be incorporated into
a wide range of health-promoting food products and dietary supplements.
- Phytosterols
ADM's plant-based sterols have a number of food and supplement
applications. Studies have shown that plant sterols can help to lower
cholesterol levels in the bloodstream and to maintain a healthy
prostate.
